Helping the Centre for the Blind understand copyright and its impact on governance.

On 18 April 2023, our volunteer lawyer Deanna Wong gave a talk to the Shek Kip Mei Lutheran Centre for the Blind about governance, copyright and intellectual property issues. This was a concern for the organization as they often have to translate lyrics into Braille and use or modify songs to make them more accessible and enjoyable for the visually impaired. This required the expertise of a skilled intellectual property lawyer and we are grateful for Deanna for taking time out of her busy work schedule to do this. The talk was very well received, nearly twenty staff and members joining in to learn more about their legal rights and obligations about using copyrighted material. There was clearly a lot of interest and discussions took the session to nearly two hours. Well done!
