DWRT: Open Letter to the Chief Executive of Hong Kong

In February 2018, the Domestic Workers’ Roundtable wrote an open letter to Ms Carrie Lam, the Chief Executive of the HKSAR Government, to express our support for the Gazetting of the amendment of the Labour Ordinance. We applaud the recent amendment of the amendments, but are mindful of the gaps in enforcement that remain a serious concern. We continue to work with the government to find a solution to this issue and to state our continuing commitment to work cooperatively to ensure the rights of domestic workers’ in Hong Kong in a fair and balanced way.

The Domestic Workers Roundtable strives to bring stakeholders working in the public interest together to collaborate with the government of Hong Kong to improve the working conditions and protection of Foreign Domestic Workers.
