SoCo Community Legal Education Talks

Updated: Jul 26, 2021

Pro Bono HK (“PBHK”) is delighted to have collaborated with the Society for Community Organization (“SoCO”) to arrange a series of three community legal education talks for disadvantaged members living in Sham Shui Po. PBHK volunteers assisted SoCO’s interns to man street stalls to raise awareness about the talks scheduled to take place at SoCO’s offices in Sham Shui Po.

The first talk took place on 8 July 2020 the topic of rights and liabilities of tenants in Hong Kong. PBHK is pleased to have arranged for two lawyers, Ming Lok and Kenneth, from international law firm, DLA Piper, to speak on this topic. There was full house attendance as well as a lot of engaging questions from the audience.

A big thank you to SoCO for hosting the event and to Ming Lok and Kenneth for bringing the access to justice to the community.

Unfortunately, the remaining two talks have had to be postponed due to social distancing requirements, however, PBHK and SoCO will re-arrange the dates when gatherings are possible again.
